South Africans aged 15 to 17 years can apply for the 2023 Rise Global Challenge until 25 January, by going to risefortheworld.org.
This is a partnership between Schmidt Futures and the Rhodes Trust. There are three stages:
- Submission – applicants introduce themselves through videos, and create and then peer review individual projects.
- Interview – up to 500 finalists are selected, demonstrating their motivations, problem-solving and teamwork skills.
- Winner selection – Rise selects 100 global winners to receive benefits as they serve others.
