Many South African families are facing the most challenging battle they will ever have to encounter: the gruelling fight against childhood cancer.
In aid of countless little warriors, members of the public are urged to support the Childhood Cancer Foundation’s (Choc) Flip-Flop Day on 18 February.
The aim of this initiative is to raise awareness about childhood cancers.
After buying a Flip-Flop Day sticker for R10, members of the public can wear flip-flops in support of children and teenagers fighting cancer.
“Wearing my flip-flops and my sticker allows me to make a meaningful contribution towards ensuring that no child or teen walks their journey alone,” says Hedley Lewis, chief executive officer of the foundation.
“Through this initiative, all South Africans can proudly show their commitment to uplifting the lives of children and teens and supporting them on their cancer journey.”
