An educational exhibition titled Learning through Art: The Museum as Classroom is on show, taken from the permanent collection of the Oliewenhuis Art Museum in Bloemfontein.

Curated by Yolanda de Kock, education officer at the museum, the exhibition is open for viewing until 20 August.

Special focus is on the Gr. 10 to Gr. 12 Visual Arts curriculum. Works of art were hand picked to optimise learners’ learning experience, offering them the opportunity to view pieces that are discussed in the classroom instead of only seeing these handbooks. The art museum becomes the classroom, accessible for teachers and learners alike to view, engage and analyse.
