Tournament honours others’ rights

Libra Shellhouse FC in Bloemfontein has organised a one-day tournament titled “Standing Against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide”. It will feature eight male masters clubs and ties with National Women’s Day, commemorated on Friday, 9 August.


Libra Shellhouse FC in Bloemfontein has organised a one-day tournament titled “Standing Against Gender-Based Violence and Femicide”. It will feature eight male masters clubs and ties with National Women’s Day, commemorated on Friday, 9 August.

Clubs will face off at the Black Terrors sports field in Phahameng, starting at 09:00.

They are the Libra Masters, Punishment Masters, Pinkhouse Masters, By Hoek Masters, Rouxville Masters, Goede Masters, Dog Pound Masters, and Levi’s Masters.

“The prevalence of gender-based violence (GBV) in South Africa is widespread and impacts almost every aspect of life. The tournament affirms our stance against the vicious cycle and mitigate the impact,” said Stephen Suputsa, spokesperson for the Libra football club.
