Organisers of the Vrystaat Arts Festival call on choreographers to apply to present their works on the programme being planned for October.
This will be featured as part of the New Dance Umbrella, which involves new works of contemporary choreographers invited to create and collaborate.
Application closes on Thursday (10/03) and can be accessed by visiting form.jotform.com/210662097027554.
“Choreographers can apply to present their work as part of the programme, which promises to be an experience not to be missed,” says Georgina Thomson.
Organisers will be launching the first edition of the New Dance Umbrella in style from 4 to 9 July. The main programme will be presented from 2 to 8 October.
The event in October promises to be a spectacle, with the two commissioned works that include Zann by Fana Tshabalala, a co-production with French composer Benjamin Magnin, which looks at isolation and loneliness.
Lorin Sookool will premiere a new untitled work.
In July, Bloemfontein-based artist Thami Majela will premiere the work POP, which was co-created with French choreographer Matthieu Nieto, in the Free State.
