Entries for this year’s Championship Boerewors competition, which is the 30th edition, close on Friday (17/06).
The first prize is a Toyota Fortuner plus R50 000 in cash, while the second prize is R30 000 and the third prize R20 000.
Scores of candidates enter the competition each year in the hope of earning the title of South Africa’s best boerewors maker and to see their product on supermarket shelves for the duration of a year. Over the past 30 years, Shoprite and Checkers have awarded anyone from aspiring chefs to accomplished home cooks this honour.
