Two suspects are due to appear in the Bloemfontein Magistrate’s Court regarding the kidnapping and murder of Moeketsi Selemela (46) on 17 July.
The two men’s arrest is the culmination of the police investigation into the ambiguous circumstances surrounding Selemela’s kidnapping and brutal murder.
He was a member of the Bloemfontein-based Center City Titanium Athletics Club.
According to the police, Selemela was found dead in the rear seat of a Free State-registered Toyota Hilux, parked on the N1 outside Bloemfontein.
He was found dead after two unknown, armed men forcibly took him from his house in Fichardtpark hours earlier.
According to the police, the suspects wore face masks so they would not be recognised.
