The MultiChoice Talent Factory (MTF) is calling on South Africans to apply for the 2023 intake.

Those who graduated in the field of the arts and aspire to pursue a career in the film and television industry can pursue this opportunity.

The programme makes provision for creative television, film and journalism graduates.

This provides an opportunity to ultimately contribute to the growth of the local and pan-African film and broadcasting industries.

Now in its ninth year, the MTF South Africa (MTFza) is a 12-month long industry readiness programme that affords participants the opportunity to learn from some of the leading TV producers in the country, while acquiring valuable experience in directing, producing, cinematography, commissioning, art direction and many other skills.

To date, 293 storytellers from across the African continent have been trained.

MTFza interns have been part of major local productions including Miss SA 2022, Survivor South Africa, Gomora and The River, and about 28 Mzansi Magic movies have been produced by participants of this programme.

“It is our commitment to the future of our industry, and gives young Africans the chance to hone their television and film production skills through a world-class training programme,” said Bobby Heaney, director of the MTF.

Eligible graduates can download and complete the application form online. This needs to be submitted, together with all the supporting documents, before the closing date on 28 February.
