With more than 290 680 learners making use of the Department of Basic Education’s second chance matric programme, this clarion call comes timeously.

“We encourage those who are successful to consider one of the qualifications being offered at TVET colleges around the country,” said Louis van Huyssteen, RMI national training director.

“Opportunities to specialise are exciting, allowing young people to explore sought-after areas of expertise.”

  • colour mixer and matcher;
  • applicator of waterborne and pearlescent paint;
  • passenger and commercial vehicle technician;
  • vehicle engine remanufacturer;
  • diagnostic technician;
  • coded welder; and
  • advanced driver-assistance system technician.
