Despite the disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, patrons of Bloem Show have come out in full support of the event.

This consumer exhibition, the largest of its kind in South Africa’s central region, will take place in Bloemfontein from 27 April to 7 May.

According to Elmarie Prinsloo, chief executive officer of the event, various artists and exhibitors have confirmed their participation.

“The agricultural sector will be highlighted at this show, with 21 championships – of which 12 are national championships – set to be featured.”

The Mangaung Fire Department and the South African Armour Museum have also confirmed their presence.

With about six weeks left for potential exhibitors to become involved, the number of exhibitors is still expected to increase.

Bloem Show has been proven to have positive economic spin-offs.

Thanks to this event, the city can expect an economic injection of about R33 million through an influx of spending at businesses, places of accommodation, fuel stations and fast-food franchises.

Over the years, Bloem Show has attracted 450 exhibitors from across the country and even the world.

The event’s management team is awaiting Covid-19 regulations to be adjusted to allow for crowds that utilise up to 50% of a venue’s capacity. This will be in adaptation of the current maximum of 2 000 people for outdoor events and 1 000 for indoor gatherings.
