Budding music producers in South Africa aspiring to make their dreams come true, can enter the #RémyProducersSA music competition. The finest beat producer stands a chance to perform abroad and ultimately become one of South Africa’s foremost beatmakers.
To enter, candidates must visit remyproducers.co.za and submit their best beat of no more than 60 seconds in MP3 format before the closing date on 18 November. Candidates shortlisted for the final will showcase their skills to a panel of judges that will select one winner who will perform alongside Major League DJz in Dubai.
This is season two of the initiative by Rémy Martin, who has teamed up with South Africa’s hottest producer, Major League DJz, in search of the country’s next big producer. “This competition offers our aspiring artists the opportunity to be recognised and be mentored into seasoned producers,” said Jerome Adonis, portfolio manager at Edward Snell & Co. This partnership comes at the dawn of the duo signing a global record label deal with Atlantic Records – home to the likes of Cardi B, Burna Boy and Ed Sheeran.
Before making it to the grand stage in Dubai, shortlisted beatmakers from across the country will be mentored by the Major League DJz and other industry experts. A weekend boot camp will be held in Johannesburg.
