Recipients of the Covid-19 Social Relief of Distress grant of R350 are advised to access their uncollected funds on srd.sassa.gov.za.
Once on the website, beneficiaries can select their retail supermarket of choice for collection. The listed options are Checkers, Usave, Shoprite, Pick n Pay and Boxer.
According to the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa), this change in collection point is due to challenges experienced at the South African Post Office and Postbank.
Beneficiaries are reminded that they can use the Sassa or Sapo card at any retail outlet or ATM.
Clients can either withdraw the cash they require or use the card to purchase goods.
Balances left in the card are safe and can be accessed whenever required. There is no need to withdraw all the cash at once.
