Poet and musician Kwena Peu is set to present Dissolving, a musical poetry show at the André Huguenet Theatre in Bloemfontein on Saturday (26/11).
The poetry show, courtesy of the Performing Arts Council of the Free State (Pacofs), is one of the poet’s newest productions.
The production seeks to magnify areas within us that need to change through dissolving compulsions of self-destruction – through musical poetry and other forms of art included.
“This production is incredibly important to me as a creative and an individual. It marks a pivotal time in my life due to experiences from my initiation as a healer; experiences which inevitably permeate into the art I put together with my band. The essence of this show is to instigate an awareness that filters out the mental friction which leads people into undesirable circumstances for their well-being. I am excited about this particular offering. This show is a reminder to be carried through all the phases of one’s life,” said Peu.
The poetry show is over two-hours long and features an opening act from the Sesotho poetry maestro from Qwaqwa, Lesika Wa Ha Dipholo.
