In an effort to minimise power outages, Eskom will install protection equipment at the substations in the Maluti-a-Phofung Municipality.
Outages, affecting the greater Qwaqwa area, were rife during April.
According to Eskom, protection equipment will help to isolate faults and do repairs without affecting infrastructure.
The installation, estimated to cost R5,1 million, should ensure uninterrupted power supply.
The municipality has reported strides in its revenue collection campaign, collecting over R134 million in the last three months and paying part of its debt to Eskom.
