Bloemfontein-based dancer dancer Kop Teny (29) will compete for the title of national champion in this year’s Red Bull Dance Your Style competition, set to taketaking place on 22 and 23 October in Pretoria.
The winner stands a chance to represent South Africa in the Red Bull Dance Your Style World Final on 10 December in Johannesburg.
Teny, from Phahameng, secured a slot in the national final by winning the provincial leg held at The Hoffman Square onrecently, 30 July.
The world’s biggest one-on-one street dance competition iscurrently held in selected cities, searching for the best street dancers who will go on to represent their country at the global final.
Teny will face off against winners from Durban, Polokwane, Gqeberha, Cape Town and Pretoria, competing battle it out for the national crown.
“I’m looking forward to meeting everyone from other cities in SA. However, my goal is to win, and I’m ready to challenge myself – and hopefully I’ll be representing South Africa at the international final,” said Teny.
The competition allows for all street dance styles, from hip hop to house.
