Become the star barista of your home by brewing delicious coffee.
Matthew Dees, senior brand manager for Jacobs Coffee, encourages every javaphile (coffee lover) to become a master in their own home.
“Next time you feel like an artistically crafted cup of coffee, go no further than your kitchen,” said Dees.
“Enjoy the process and find your perfect taste. No need to face the maddening rush of your local coffee shop.”
Make awesome coffee
- To recreate a stronger brew, use two capsules instead of running the water through the same pod twice. At coffee shops, the quantity of the coffee used is higher than in a single pod. Therefore, you will need an extra pod.
- Use barista milk to recreate your favourite milky coffee blend. Barista milk preserves the flavour of the milk and creates long-lasting foam for cappuccinos and lattes. If you prefer plant-based milks, such as oat milk, you can find these in a barista style as well. When using oat milk, choose a coffee with a stronger roast. A coffee with this intensity has less acidity, which will pair well with the plant-based milks.
- When deciding on how much milk to use, try dividing the coffee, milk, and foam into equal parts of three. If you do not have a milk frother, quickly whisk some up before you make your coffee.
- Always warm up your cup before pouring coffee into it. A cold cup can reduce the heat of your coffee as you pour it in.
