Four of five girls from Bloemfontein earned titles after dazzling the judges in the international Miss Pure Sparkle pageant.
The crowning was done on Saturday (09/07).
The Bloemfontein girls were finalists in this pageant, held virtually, in which contestants competed in five categories.
Reitumetse Thakalekoala was a Mini Miss Sparkle finalist. This category is for girls four to five years old. Tlhonofatso Gaonwe was a finalist in the category for girls six to eight years old, Tiny Miss Sparkle. Orefile Mojatau competed as finalist for the title of Little Miss Sparkle, for girls nine to 11 years old.
Mmonemang Mraushe was a Junior Miss Sparkle finalist, competing with other girls 12 to 14 years old, and Katleho Moeketsi vied with contestants 15 to 18 years of age for the title of Miss Pure Sparkle.
They represented South Africa among the 30 contestants.
The finalists modelled outfits that showcased their individuality under the theme “When I Glow Up”.
These designs reflected what they want to be when they grow up.
“This is to help young girls build their self-esteem and confidence to find their internal sparkle, and to persevere through life’s transitions,” said Dipolelo Hou, pageant codirector and former winner of the Miss South Africa Plus World pageant.
