The levels of water storage dams in the Free State remain healthy, thanks to regular rainfall.
According to a report of the Department of Water and Sanitation, the combined level is at 105,4%.
The levels of all major dams that store water for consumption exceed 100%, while the level of the Tierpoort Dam has improved to 124,0%. This dam is used mainly for agriculture irrigation.
The levels of Rustfontein and Groothoek, which feed parts of the Mangaung Metro, have greatly improved. Rustfontein is at 119,3% and Groothoek at 102,8%.
The level of the Kalkfontein Dam, located on the Riet river, is currently at 104,1%, while that of the Krugersdrift Dam is at 123,7%.
