FRANKFORT – The Frankfort police have launched a manhunt for suspects in connection with the brutal murder of a 71-year-old woman in this Free State town. The victim was reportedly found dead in a flat on the evening of Wednesday 29 October.
The police are appealing to members of the public who have information about the incident to assist in tracing the suspect or suspects who murdered the victim.
Sgt. Josephine Rani, spokesperson for the police in the Fezile Dabi district, has confirmed that members received information, at about 18:50, that a murder had taken place at the residential flats.
She said police members who attended the scene discovered the body of a white woman lying on the floor.
“Her neck, hands and feet were tied. The deceased sustained multiple stab wounds to the upper body. The suspect may have stolen the deceased cellphone,” said Rani.
The motive for the murder remains under investigation.
