The organisers of the Mangaung Gospel Festival have announced that all logistical arrangements are in order for the much-anticipated event slated for Saturday (01/04) at the Kaizer Sebothelo Stadium in Botshabelo. All artists, both national and local, who were billed to perform have been confirmed.
Thinah Zungu is the latest addition to the line-up.
With three days to go, over 65% of tickets, both VIP and general, have reportedly been sold. VIP Tickets are selling for R1 200, while a general audience ticket costs R250 at computicket.com.
The Mangaung Gospel Festival is an initiative of five men: Apostle Muso Motsoikha, Mohlolo Mochela, Kegorapetse Melamu, Thabo Mafanyolle and Sam Motheoane. They have billed various gospel artists, soloists and groups.
Genres include traditional gospel, clap and tap gospel, contemporary gospel, as well as praise and worship.
The idea to bring various gospel artists together is aligned with the objective to make Botshabelo the home of a gospel festival in Mangaung, while unearthing local talent.
The organisers have arranged for a mobile ticket office at which fans can purchase some of the remaining tickets.
“Tickets will be sold at the mobile ticket office until 13:00 to comply with safety measures put into place. We strongly encourage fans to buy at Computicket, which is very convenient,” says Motsoikha.
He says security measures have been tightened and will be supported by the police and private sector security.
“We have enlisted over 300 watchdogs, mostly from Botshabelo, to ensure safety. We decided to enlist unemployed people to ensure they benefit from some spinoffs of the festival,” says Motheoane.
Gates will open at 09:00, with the festival set to start at 11:00 and to continue until midnight.
