Naledi Mohapi, a local singer of the group Simple Stories, will provide entertainment at this year’s De Oude Kraal WildsKOSfees.

Set to take place on 4 June, this festival will give guests the opportunity to enjoy the best game and other meat dishes, paired with wines from the country’s 22 top wine estates.

Central24, of which Express is a publication, is the media sponsor of this event.

According to Marie Lombard, this will be the 22nd edition of the event.

Lombard, her husband, Gerhard, and their daughter, Marie-Louise Nel, are the owners of De Oude Kraal Country Estate and Spa.

“This is the highlight of our yearly calender. We are proud to present this true Free State festival,” Lombard says.

“This festival gives us the opportunity to go from strength to strength where we offer a unique experience with quality products and services.”

The aim of the festival is to showcase the wide variety of gourmet game dishes available.

Lombard believes that game is one of the best proteins for winter dishes.

“The process begins with female animals for the best quality meats, aged in the correct manner and divided into different cuts of meat.

“Many people don’t realise the true potential of venison in South Africa.”

The lunch and wine tasting will start at 11:00.

Tickets cost R550, while children aged 13 to 17 pay R250 and those aged 6 to 12 pay R150. Tickets for the VIP experience, which includes exclusive food and wine tastings and access to the VIP lounge, cost R950.

Tickets are available at Crazy Daisy Fleurdal and Daisy & Co. Preller Square, or directly from De Oude Kraal. Interested parties can dial 071-679-6596 or 051-564-0636.
