An aerobics session will be held at Hoffman Square in Bloemfontein on 4 February, annually observed as World Cancer Day.
This initiative, spearheaded by cancer survivors in Bloemfontein, consists of a series of events aimed at fast-tracking cancer awareness within Bloemfontein townships.
This year marks the start of a three-year campaign centred on the issue of equity.
“Close the care gap”, the campaign’s theme, recognises the power of knowledge and challenges the inequities in cancer care around the world.
Each year, lives are lost due to inequity in cancer care.
All too often, factors like income, education and location, as well as discrimination based on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability and lifestyle, negatively affect care of cancer patients.
- Those interested in participating in the aerobics session can call Chief Leeuw on 072-950-0032. Participants are urged to wear pink. Registration costs R80.
