Women entrepreneurs are encouraged to enter the 2023 Santam Women of the Future Awards, run in association with FairLady and Truelove.
Entries will be accepted until 5 June.
The competition seeks to reward impactful, resilient and inspiring women entrepreneurs in South Africa. This is regardless of whether they have just started a new business, or have been running their business for a while.
The winners in the various categories will share in the prizes worth more than R600 000.
The categories are:
- Woman of the Future – an entrepreneur aged 30 years or older whose business is more than 1 000 days old;
- Rising Star – an entrepreneur between 16 and 30 years old who is still within her first 1 000 days, and
- Social Entrepreneur – for entrepreneurs aged 30 years or older who are making a real and noticeable difference in their community (their social enterprise must have survived the first 1 000 days).
This is the ninth year that the awards will be presented with the aim of recognising and celebrating outstanding achievements by women entrepreneurs.
“We believe women who run their own businesses have a huge role to play in our country’s economy,” said Andrew Coutts, executive head for intermediated business at Santam.
The panel of judges for this year are highly respected women who have a background in entrepreneurial leadership positions and have impact in both the private and public sector.
