This year’s Free State International Music Conference, set to take place in Bloemfontein from 7 to 9 November, will experience a revolution with ten female DJs taking centre stage.

More than 150 enthusiasts entered a competition to determine who will feature in the line-up to perform at The Zone car wash and restaurant. The selected DJs will be the cream of crop from the Free State.

Thus far, 20 have made it to the last round, from which ten will be chosen.

According to Ayanda Roda, chairperson of the Free State Music Association (FSMA), these DJs represent the innovations undertaken by the organisation.

He says the public is voting to decide their favourite ten DJs. Voters can visit the FSMA Facebook page, view the code of their favourite DJ, and SMS it to 47152.

The top 20 DJ listing comprises: DJ Mapola (Ficksburg); Cocoa the daughter (Koffiefontein); Blizz Deep (Botshabelo); DJ Kuli (Lindley); Mo’Les Twins, House of Thaps, DJ Soni, DJ Puggy, DJ Thato (all Bloemfontein); DJ Ms Kelz (Ladybrand); Khadija the DJ (Harrismith); Miss Maya the DJ (Bethlehem); Verro De DJ, DJ Kat-Mo, DJ Dineo Mosh (Qwaqwa); DJ Grootlaby Tsho Lo (Hoopstad); DJ Yellowbone (Ventersburg); DJ Deep Empress (Parys); DJ Rea (Clocolan); and DJ Prec (Vrede).
