Bloemfontein police launch manhunt after man’s murder in Westdene

The Bloemfontein police are requesting the public’s assistance in providing reliable information to find the next of kin of an unknown man found murdered in the city’s Westdene suburb.


The Bloemfontein police are requesting the public’s assistance in providing reliable information to find the next of kin of an unknown man found murdered in the city’s Westdene suburb. The body was found this morning – Monday, 22 July – at a parking space between Kellner and Zastron Street, opposite the chain of pubs at about 06:30.

Details are vague regarding the incident and is not known when he was killed. Col Thabo Covane, police spokesperson for the Mangaung region, said the deceased is African and estimated to be in his 30s.

The police forensic pathologists remove the body of unknown male at the crime scene.

“The deceased has a gash underneath the chin, with severe assault wounds on the face and head. He was wearing lime-green sneakers, black track pants, and a colourful hoodie,” said Covane.
