Plans are afoot to host the arts market at this year’s Vrystaat Arts Festival, a very important part of the festival’s success.
The goal is to have two market events for 2022.
The markets, to be held on the Bloemfontein campus of the University of the Free State, not only provide a platform for hard-working exhibitors to showcase their craft, but also create a feeling of festivity.
The first programme, that of the Winter Mini Market, is set to run from 12 to 16 July.
The Callie Human Hall and Examination Rooms will be used for indoor stalls, while outdoor stalls will be placed around the two halls.
This event, aimed at creating a cosy winter market atmosphere, will offer the best of locally manufactured products.
The main Vrystaat Arts Festival – with a large arts market, as well as theatre and music productions – will be presented from 2 to 8 October.
The festival grounds have undergone major changes over the past two years to ensure that visitors have a good time.
Exhibitors are encouraged to apply for the markets now.
To do this, they can visit vrystaatartsfestival.co.za, look under “the arts market” and find the application forms.
For more information, interested parties can call Atie Kamper on 082-859-2392 during office hours.
- Exhibitors, visitors and artists have to be vaccinated and will be required to show their e-vaccination certificate in order to get access to the university premises.
